Welcome to Butler Conservatory of Music. We offer music instruction for ages 4 to 104 through:

Recent studies have shown that music can promote better problem solving, improve listening skills and good concentration. This is true for children as well as adults.

Research has linked active music making with better language and math ability, improved school grades, better-adjusted social behavior, and improvements in "spatial-temporal reasoning," which is the foundation of engineering and science.
Children who take weekly music instruction perform statistically higher in academic testing.
Playing a musical instrument improves eye-hand coordination, balance, and dexterity.

With a high rate of budget cuts within our public schools, music programs are dwindling. Students who enjoy the arts are being deprived of the benefits of a strong music curriculum. BCOM seeks to supplement school music offerings by providing convenient and fun music lessons right in your student's school. Currently, we offer after school group & private lessons, and band & choir for K-8 in metropolitan Detroit area schools. For a list of established programs, click here.

Day school band, choir & orchestra programs are also available.

Music lessons are available for children and adults on Saturdays. Group and private instrumental lessons, private vocal lessons and group theory lessons are taught in the Detroit area. For class information, click here.

BCOM Instructors are experienced teachers who love music and music instruction. Group lessons follow a specific lesson curriculum that includes some theory instruction. For private lessons, the instructor meets with the student to evaluate music ability. From this evaluation, the instructor develops a curriculum to assist the student in their instrumental or vocal development.
